Individual Therapy in Calgary: A Steady Place to Reset and Reconnect With Yourself

You may have spent a lot of your life being the helper, the one who has it together, the one everyone else leans on. From the outside, things might look fine. On the inside, you're tired, stretched thin, or not sure who you are underneath all the holding.

Therapy can be a place where you finally get to prioritize yourself. I'm Amie, a Registered Social Worker, and I work with adults 18 and over who want practical, compassionate support in the middle of life's more complicated stretches.

Does any of this sound like you?

  • You're a perfectionist or people-pleaser and you're exhausted from holding everything together
  • You feel things deeply and often feel like too much, or not understood
  • You're in a life transition: graduating, starting university, a breakup, a career change
  • You feel stuck and can't quite explain why
  • Old patterns from your family or past keep showing up in your present life
  • You're carrying grief or something painful you haven't been able to move past

How I work

I believe therapy should be collaborative, safe, honest, and affordable, and more than head nods and blank stares. You're the expert on your life, and I'm your guide. We go at your pace, focus on the real, everyday challenges holding you back, and keep our eyes on how you want to live now.

What working together looks like

  1. A consultation. A chance for us to see whether my approach fits your goals and history.
  2. Mapping the work. Together, we identify the patterns you want to shift and the strengths you want to carry forward, and we build a plan that fits your pace.
  3. Living with alignment. As your actions start to match your values, you build confidence in returning to yourself, even when life gets hard.

When you want to go deeper

Some of what brings people to therapy has its own focus:

  • Grief counselling in Calgary, including grief after a death and grief you didn't know you were carrying
  • Trauma and complex PTSD therapy, including childhood trauma and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
  • Couples therapy in Calgary, for deepening connection, navigating transitions, grieving together, or healing after betrayal
