Couples Therapy in Calgary

Understand Each Other, Grow Together, and Hold What's Hard

Every relationship is asking something of you: to understand each other more deeply, to weather change together, and sometimes to hold hard things side by side. Couples come to me for many reasons. Some want to build a stronger foundation. Some are in the middle of a big life change. Some are carrying grief, or a hurt that neither of them knows how to move forward with.

Building a relationship that lasts

Many couples come to therapy not because something is wrong, but because they want to understand each other better and build a marriage that lasts a lifetime. Together we look at how each of you experiences the relationship, what each of you needs, and how you can show up for each other in ways that land.

Navigating life transitions together

New jobs, moves, becoming parents, career changes, loss of a loved one, and other big shifts can quietly change how two people relate to each other. Therapy can give you a steady space to talk through what's changing and find your footing as a team.

Holding grief together

When a couple is grieving, whether from a death, a miscarriage or other loss, or a life you expected that didn't happen, each person often grieves differently. That can leave you feeling far apart at the moment you most need each other. In our sessions, we make room for both of your experiences and help you understand how each of you grieves, so you can support one another instead of feeling alone side by side.

Betrayal is a loss

Some hurts are hard to move past. Maybe there was a betrayal you can't stop thinking about, and it feels exhausting and lonely even when you're together.

After a betrayal, many people find themselves stuck in grief they didn't expect: shock, yearning for how things were, anger that comes in waves. Understanding that these reactions are normal can be a relief. In our work, we make space for what happened and what it changed, while staying focused on where you want to go.

Breaking the cycle

If you and your partner are stuck in the same arguments, we look beneath the surface. Often the fight isn't about what it seems to be about. We slow things down, understand each person's experience, and build new ways of talking with each other.

Who I work with

Adults 18 and over who want to strengthen their relationship, navigate life transitions together, grieve together, or work through hurt such as betrayal or repeating arguments, including before or after a breakup, a big change in one partner's life, or feeling stuck together.
